The school was founded on 20th September, 1999 by Rev. Sister Mary Paracleta Egwuonwu and the D.M.M.M Community, Ehime Mbano for the congregation of Daughters of mary, mother of mercy. It was the former Sr. Vincent De Paul Hospital that was converted to secondary school following the relocation to a new site at Aba branch in Umuezeala Owere on the old Enugu-Umuahia Federal High way. It is a boarding secondary school for girls only.. The school got an approval from Imo State ministry of Education to operate as a private secondary school on 15th December, 2000. On 3rd July, 2001
